Mentored Workshop January - March 2024

Your photography is art. Learn to use it.

All the pictures you made. Do you have a system?

I’ll do it tomorrow. I’ll do it next week. I’ll do it by the end of the year.

Feel familiar?

Now it is time to get onto it.

We create so many images, thanks to unlimited digital space we are able to capture, capture, capture, capture and then what? Aside from the few selects we might pull out to share, what happens with the rest?

What if there was a way for you to get your digital chaos organised WHILE pulling out the forgotten images and find a brand new body of work from work you’ve already made?

That is where I come in. During 10 weeks I help you get organised. I’ll give you manageable tasks to keep you on track. Best of all, while you’re organising we are selecting images together. The reward:

A compelling photographic series from your work.

You will learn:

  1. to keep an organised digital workflow
  2. to identify the images that speak to you from the heart
  3. to sequence a series of images

This course offers you a step-by-step approach to organise and store your digital files and also shows you how to sequence a series from the images you find there.

Each of the three modules comes with a group session on zoom, a 1-1 session with Kristine and the course ends in a final presentation of the work you made.

In the past students have made work they’ve brought to portfolio reviews, exhibitions and publications. You can do it too, join me at the beginning of 2023 to get started, knowing that you’ll have this big task accomplished by the end of March.

I can’t wait to dive into your work with you!

Workshop starts January 16, 2024

Only 10 available seats in this workshop and it’s only offered once a year...

Your Instructor

Hello! I’m Kristine, photographer, journalist, educator and photography coach. I have photographed presidents, rock stars, kings and queens, actors and my most favourite: everyday folks. My work has been published worldwide in magazines and newspapers, and I both write and photograph long-form feature stories, my primary focus being our everyday connection to our geography and how we live. I build online courses for photographers wanting to expand on their work and connect with their inner storyteller, because if there is one thing at the core of everything I do it is story.

TESTIMONIALS:

"Going through this Archive class was like having a creative midwife- I had do the hard work and labor myself, but I had a gentle and capable coach alongside me, giving me things to hold onto and help me through the process."

-Jessica Uhler, USA

Kristine has an uncanny ability to identify individual strengths in work, and in story. She is unassuming, yet observes everything and does not forget. She is a delight in person, curious, quirky in humor, and overall, a teacher with the understanding (and organization) to encourage anyone, at any level, who wants to better understand their own voice.

-Katherine Emery, USA

I always feel safe when working with Kristine. I also feel being seen, heard and understood. And most of all, empowered. I like her honesty and sense of humor, and of course, her wonderful knowledge in her field.

-Dawn Lu, Germany

Kristine has a way of helping to draw things out of you that were already there and she’s so honest. She gives you the right amount of push to get through the work you are tasked with and encourages you to be real with yourself to make your work better.

-Jacque Jackson, USA

The way she delivers feedback is both direct and positive so hearing it is easy and motivational. Your work will improve from proximity to Kristine -- and you will feel really good about it.

-Charlotte McGehee, USA

Having Kristine look at my work was very rewarding. She confirmed that some of the images I really loved were also speaking to her. She helped me focus on my goal, pick a direction and get the work DONE.

-Johanna, Ireland

January 2024 - March 2024

Mentored workshop. Only 10 spots available.

LEVEL UP

We will pinpoint your strengths and identify themes in your work, giving you a better sense of your direction as you move forward as a photographer.

FINISH A PROJECT

We will find a series of images in your work that you can put together as a story. This will give you a tangible project to help you promote your photography.

GET ORGANISED

You will do that hard task of organising your past work and setting up a system so you will always be able to locate that one image you remember making.

WORK AT A GENTLE PACE

We are not in a hurry. Each section comes with recorded instructional videos and one-on-one time with Kristine. She will give you tailored advice and encouragement as you move forward and help you edit and sequence your work.

GET ACCOUNTABILITY

You will be encouraged to maintain a workflow in a fun and manageable way without feeling overwhelmed. This will develop into a regular practice that will help you keep organised in the future so that you can continue to identify and pull selected images into meaningful series.

BECOME CONFIDENT

Gain confidence as you move through the overwhelm and dissatisfaction that is typically associated with deep archive work. As you do the work you’ll narrow down your images to a spectacular set that reminds you why you love making pictures in the first place. That’s the magic and that’s where you’ll find the confidence for growth.
